reason, have failed to maintain. The Association is requesting that every effort be made to inform homeowners that the maintenance of the alley is their responsibility, but it is anticipated that there will still be areas of neglect. These problem sites will be the domain of the Alley Cats. Anyone wishing to volunteer or learn more may contact Gary Penn at 452-3103. A motion was then made by Planning Committee Chair Karen McGraw, directing the Co-Presidents to write a letter to the City of Austin reminding them of their obligations, and their past promises made by under City Manager Jesus Garza, to assist Hyde Park in the maintenance of Hyde Park's alleys and the continuance of alley trash pickup service. The motion also requested that the City itself distribute literature to home owners in the area, reminding them of their obligation to keep the alleys free of branches and overgrowth. The motion passed unanimously.

Homes Tour - Bob Breeze

HPNA Treasure Mike Capochiano was cheered mightily when he announced the earnings to the Association from the 2002 Hyde Park Homes Tour. An increase in attendance and advertising sales left the Association's coffers in good standing for the upcoming year. One Thousand Two Hundred and Seventy Eight people attended the tour. HPNA Co-President and newly- made Homes Tour legend Bob Breeze pointed out that if that many people stood shoulder to shoulder, they would form a line half a mile long. This came as no surprise to homeowners who opened their homes for two days during the tour. Longtime HPNA stalwart and Zoning Chairperson Dorothy Richter moved a special round of thanks to homeowners whose giving of their time, their homes and their amazing patience made the tour possible. Those involved with the tour this year were heard repeating the same constant refrain, that people "just seemed to be having a really good time this year."

Historic Zoning - Peter Maxson

A motion was made by this correspondent to support a historic zoning application for 4007 Avenue G at the behest of neighbor and architectural historian Peter Maxson. The home currently belongs to John and Cindy Beall.

Adjournment

Co-President Breeze adjourned the meeting on schedule and neighbors headed home quickly amid rumors of heavy rains headed this way.
