I can't stress this enough:
If we, as a neighborhood, are unsuccessful in clearing the alleyways of brush, Solid Waste Services has stated that they intend to discontinue trash pickup in the alleyways and I think that this would be a big detriment to the neighborhood.

If you are a homeowner and you notice that your property on the alleyway is in need of trimming, don't wait until a volunteer crew arrives to help, please tackle it yourself first. This will save a great deal of work from the volunteers that will be trying to tackle this tough problem.

Sorry to end this article on such a desperate note, but this is looming as a big problem in the neighborhood and I needed to call it to your attention. Hopefully, we'll get additional volunteers that will make these efforts a fun day out with your neighbors and Hyde Park will look much better as a result.
