objectionable, I'd like to encourage everyone to refrain from parking
on their yards. In my opinion (Note:I said my opinion; this is not the
stated opinion of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association -currently the
Association has not taken a formal stand) it is just the neighborly thing
to do. Hyde Park is unusual among neighborhoods. In addition to our many historical buildings, we have a very strong sense of neighborhood pride. An integral part of this pride is the appearance of our neighborhood. A lot of people have worked long and hard to preserve the neighborhood. I'd like to keep our area as attractive and pleasant as possible. If you disagree, please don't send me any hate mail. Just come to the February meeting. On another note, I understand that the city will be postponing the planned road projects for both Lamar and Guadalupe. A tight city budget seems to be affecting all aspects of city operation. I will keep you updated on this as information becomes available. Finally, I'd like to invite everyone to make one particular New Year's resolution: resolve to become active and involved with your neighborhood association. You will meet some great people, and you will improve the quality of life for both yourself and your neighbors. I wish everyone a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.
