Association, and especially our homeowners. I would particularly like to thank John Lawyer for his work with booklet advertising sales; Alan Marburger, who once again arranged for the buses and the advertising to pay for them; Anne Stevenson who again did the desktop publishing work for the booklet; and Jack Taylor and Priority Copy who once again printed it.

We were lucky with weather this year, when rain the preceding night cleared up for the first day of the Tour and it was not as hot as it has been on some previous Tours. The altheas and many other flowering plants were still in bloom for the tourgoers. On a related topic, the Steering Committee will recommend to the August General Meeting that $2500.00 of the proceeds be contributed to the State Hospital Volunteer Council, to build a garden at the Children's Unit just north of 45th Street. This sum will pay for an irrigation system to sustain the proposed garden through merciless Texas summers. Word is that volunteer labor from neighborhood gardeners would be welcome as well.

Some of us who worked for months on the Tour felt a considerable sense of relief by the time of the well-attended wrap-up party at New World Deli Sunday evening. However, work on next year's Tour will need to begin in a few months. So, if you have idea about what houses to include next year or a better way to do some aspect you certainly will very welcome to bring them to the table when planning meetings start early next year.
