Love Poem
We've scheduled a date on which to meet,
by email photo my heart's been smitten,
and the lightness of your voice, so neat.
I promise I shall not repeat
my overwhelming love, once written,
now we've scheduled a date on which to meet.
You'll know my smile and feel the heat
of expectations satisfied, dear one, I'm betting.
By the lightness of your voice, so neat,
I sense your soul is deeply sweet,
a hand more soft than a winter mitten,
ah soon the scheduled date on which to meet.
I feel my life will be complete,
against my body you'll be sitting,
at the scheduled date on which we meet
I'll hear the lightness of your voice so neat.

Mood
I feel like I did when I was 18--
afraid, lost, not knowing what to do.
I feel like the dragon devoured me.
I'm lying there in his belly being digested.
Soon I'll be part of the dragon.
But I won't know I'm part of the dragon.
I probably won't know anything.
I won't even know I'm lost anymore.
And if you don't know you're lost
then of course you can't be found.
You're in a place that's neither lost nor found;
you're part of the dragon.
But you don't really know you're part of it.
You're probably just a toe--or a toenail.
And toenails don't have any awareness.
I feel like I did when I was 18.
No I don't. I feel worse.
I feel like the dragon's toenail.
