Hyde Park United Methodist's Christmas Bazaar set for December 5 and 6

he Christmas Craft Bazaar is set for 3-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, and 8
a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. In addition to the silent auction and the
sale of crafts and collectibles created by AustinŐs most popular vendors,
the event also includes elegant hand-crafted gifts made by HPUMC members,
live music both days, and delicious homemade goodies.
Legendary singer-songwriter Kimmie Rhodes, who just released "Picture in a
Frame", a new CD with Willie Nelson, will perform Friday, Dec. 5, as part
of the Christmas Craft Bazaar at Hyde Park United Methodist Church in
Austin. Rhodes recently appeared on Austin City Limits with Emmylou Harris,
Dave Mathews, Patty Griffin, and Buddy & Judy Miller, where she and Emmylou
performed their Grammy-nominee song "Ordinary Heart" (nominated for Best
Female Country Vocal). Kimmie, who lives in Austin, will perform with
husband Joe Gracey on bass and son Gabe Rhodes on lead guitar.
The concert is set for 8 p.m. in the church sanctuary. General admission is
$12 at the door; $25 for special seating. Feel free to shop the Christmas

Proceeds from this event are disbursed among a number of charities, which
in years past have included Meals on Wheels, the Montopolis Friendship
Center, Metropolitan Ministries, North Austin Caregivers, Church World
United, Down Home Ranch, Habitat for Humanity, and many more.
