Spring Crime Spree Sprung?
Dear Neighbors,Spring thefts are blossoming, spurred on by warm weather and elevated humidity. It seems who wouldn't want to get out and steal something? Of note in our corner of the neighborhood (42nd and Avenue B, to be precise): within the last month a window was forced open and a cottage stripped of electronics, music and sadly - alcoholic beverages. A week ago, a thief entered a backyard and a power mower went missing. Monday afternoon, a thick shackle was cut and a brand new trailer filled with band equipment ($10,000 worth) was hitched and heisted. All this within the small stretch of E. 42nd between Ave B and Ave C.
I'm certain their are other stories. Is this a trend? Please share your stories with your neighbors and importantly with our neighborhood police and maybe, in the future, we'll have fewer of these spring stories to report. State Hospital Seeks Clothing, Shoes
Dear Neighbors,The Austin State Hospital is seeing more patients for shorter periods of time.
As a result, more demands are being placed on our patient clothing closet. We especially need gently worn athletic shoes and plus size clothing for men and women.
