A rea-wide Shortage of Things to Complain About: Neighbors Express Dismay Neighbors got mostly good news at the August monthly meeting of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association. These fun and informative meetings generally take place the first Monday of each month at seven p.m. at the Hyde Park Methodist Church on Speedway. Representatives of the Austin Clean Water Program were on hand to answer questions about the upcoming sewage pipe replacement under and just north of the Waller Creek bridge on 45th. The Austin Clean Water Program is an enormous public works undertaking mandated upon the City of Austin by the EPA. By the year 2007 all the sewage pipes in the central Austin area must be replaced or repaired to prevent leakage into the watershed. The director of the project himself, Gopal Guthikanda, briefed those present on the details. Also there to answer questions was this site's specific project engineer, Joe Heopken.
