President's Desk...
...cont'd from page 2

Also on the agenda is Don Iden, president of the Ridgetop Neighborhood Association, located immediately north of Hyde Park. Mr. Iden will present his group's concerns about the route of the No. 15 bus. The question is how the bus, which runs north on Red River, should get to Airport Blvd after it passes 45th Street. Should it turn right at 45th Street? Or should it continue up Red River, turn left on 49th Street, right on Caswell, then right again at 51st Street? Or something else?
After the heavy rains of late November, I received a call from a distressed neighbor residing on one of the avenues between 45th Street and the UT intramural field. She said she had awakened one night with a foot of water in her house, the result of Waller Creek overflowing its banks. Her floors and car were ruined and her insurance company was not returning her calls. I suggested she share her story on our Yahoo Group, but she never did. Has flood control for Waller Creek become a major issue for the neighborhood?
