On a successful note, officers recently apprehended a Peeping Tom. When caught, the man, wearing a black hooded sweater and carrying a flashlight, flashed a security badge from a nearby institution. Officers followed up to see if the guard had worked the night the suspect was picked up. As it turned out, he hadn't, nor did he live on the premises. Furthermore, his identification matched what previous callers had said when reporting a Peeping Tom at their residence. This offense is classified as a Class C Misdemeanor and carries a fine of up to $200, said Officer Vargas.
Police are also closing in on those suspected of spray painting graffiti in public places. One person was clearly identified and picked up after a business camera caught a picture of the teenager's face in early December. The remaining offender continues to elude law enforcers. Unlike previous months, December saw only one incident of criminal mischief. The last offense occurred December 2nd in the 600 block of 46th Street.
