In Memoriam
...cont'd from page 8

And another -- no surprise to neighbors who have long enjoyed her many contributions to these pages -- came from a long-time family friend who described her as "RNC's Poet Laureate."
Ms. Casey was a laureate not only as a poet, but as a person -- one whose faith in the essential goodness of humanity, and the beauty and worth of life, never wavered. It is altogether fitting, then, that the Memorial Service program included a poem which reflected that faith in eloquent and reassuring fashion:
"Weep Not"

Weep not for me, I tell you dears,
Weep not.
For I've but joined those loved ones
Who have come home before.
Weep not for me, I charge you --
Do not weep.
But rather, dears, rejoice
For I am well again
And in my Father's house.
Weep not for me; but rather laugh and live
Until that newer day
When all our circle sweet
Shall be unbroke again
Up here.
