The Marathon
(Commemorating the Motorola Marathon, Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000)
Life goes on.
Who said that?
You enter the underworld
all hope lost,
stay a while,
emerge.
You're still alive.
Oh well.
Get on with it.
Life is a marathon
of aging yuppies
jogging down Duval Street
when they should be home
reading the Sunday funnies.
Two weeks ago
someone died.
I thought I'd died too.
Nope.
I'm still here,
still in the marathon.
Life goes on.
Who said that?
