Walter Badger House, 4112 Speedway |
The seventh stop on the Tour is only a block from
here. It is the Turner/Hebert House at 4112 Avenue
D. Neighbors have watched with great interest the
three year transformation of this welcoming house.
The original one-story house was built in 1924, with
a second-story "camelback" addition built in the mid
1940's. The current owners, Anne Hebert and Garland
Turner, have undertaken a complete remodel with an
upstairs master suite, a dining room extension, and
new exterior porches.

Turner/Herbert House, 4112 Avenue D |
As you head back to Baker School, stop by the
Franke house to look at the rainwater collection system. This system
demonstrates a water conservation
project by the first president of our neighborhood association.
In celebration of the 30th year of our Tour, and in
the spirit of our "front porch friendly" tradition, we
hope you will come and enjoy with us the history, the
people and the homes of Hyde Park.
