Learn how the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association is organized, how meetings and decisions work, and how neighbors can get involved
-
The Hyde Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) brings neighbors together to strengthen community, preserve the character of Hyde Park, and advocate for issues that affect the neighborhood.
HPNA is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization made up of Hyde Park residents. We provide a forum for sharing information, hosting speakers, coordinating neighborhood efforts, and representing Hyde Park interests to the City of Austin and other organizations.
Everyone who lives in Hyde Park is welcome to participate. Membership is open, and new neighbors are always encouraged to get involved.
If you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please contact us or attend a meeting.
-
HPNA decisions are shaped through member participation, committee work, and discussion at monthly meetings.
The Steering Committee helps guide the Association’s overall direction. Task Force Committees research specific topics and make recommendations. Issues that require member approval are brought forward at general meetings.
HPNA members are eligible to vote on issues presented at meetings after a 30-day waiting period following payment of dues.
Meeting agendas and summaries are published in the Pecan Press and shared via the HPNA notice email list.
-
HPNA holds monthly general meetings that are open to all residents, members and non-members alike. Meetings focus on topics relevant to Hyde Park, including neighborhood issues, local projects, city initiatives, and community updates.
