Membership in HPNA
Becoming a member helps us maintain a vital community voice. Since its inception in 1974, we’ve been an all volunteer organization, helping address issues meaningful to Hyde Park residents.
Choose a membership that’s right for you and complete the online application. Once approved, you can follow the email link you receive to pay your membership dues. If you’d prefer to not apply online or have other questions, contact our membership team by email, and we’ll give you other options.
NOTE: Memberships purchased during November and December of a calendar year are extended to include membership for ALL of the next calendar year.
Choose your membership type:
Individual Membership: $5 per person, per year
Available to residents living inside the boundaries of Hyde Park (see boundaries map below), allowing you to vote on local motions and resolutions.
Senior Individual Membership: $1 per person, per year
For Hyde Park residents over 65, with the same benefits as individual members. For residents living inside the boundaries of Hyde Park (see boundaries map below).
Non-resident, non-voting Membership: $5 per person, per year
Available to residents living outside the boundaries of Hyde Park (see boundaries map below), this non-voting membership is ideal for those simply wanting to keep up on local discussion, or for owners of property inside the boundaries but residing outside.
Business Membership: $25 per business, per year
Want to support your local community? We’ll feature you in monthly listings in the Pecan Press, and with a small description you provide and notation here on the HPNA’s web site. We’re grateful for your support and do everything we can to encourage awareness among our membership.
Student Membership: FREE
Are you a student at UT or other local schools, living in Hyde Park? Please contact our Membership team so we can add you to our membership list.
Notes on Membership:
• We use a membership tool called “GlueUp” to maintain our rolls. When you join, we’ll send you reminders on renewing your membership (in December) for the coming year. You can also choose to auto-renew when signing up and paying online.
• Only members current on their membership dues may vote on active resolutions by HPNA. New and renewing members must wait 30 days until they’re eligible to vote on resolutions.
• We do not share or sell member contact information to anyone. Information you provide is only used to contact you about your membership or HPNA activities. Your info is also never published online or elsewhere.
• All memberships end at the end of a calendar year. Those joining during November or December of a calendar year will be extended to be current for the next full calendar year.
What are the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association boundaries?
As defined in the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association’s bylaws:
South of 45th Street, HPNA is bounded by 38th Street, 45th Street, Guadalupe Street and Duval Street. North of 45th Street, HPNA is bounded by 45th Street, 51st Street, Red River Street and Guadalupe Street except for the University of Texas Intramural Fields, which are not a part of HPNA.
Those who do not reside within these boundaries may join the HPNA as non-voting members.
